The first visit my husband and I made there wasn't at all what I expected. We were suppose to meet there at 4:30 but my husband was late. The staff was very accommodating. It gave me time to visit with Don the administrator there. He was so helpful and answered a lot of questions for me. He was so understanding and supportive about my mother-in-law. I could no longer continue to care for her by myself. As I sat there, waiting on my husband, one of the nurses asked if I'd like to join them for dinner. I should have said no but it smelled so good, Salmon broiled in garlic butter and dill, oven roasted potatoes, asparagus and the softest yeast roll. My husband finally made it there. They made a small plate for him as well. He loved it. During the meal, I had a chance to watch how the staff loved on the ladies there. They lovingly escorted the ladies to a beautiful table. Later I was told the table was made from reclaimed wood from an old barn door. The details in their home were amazing. It did not feel like an old folks home or a nursing home or any other facility, It was a normal home. Though, there was nothing average about it. By the time we left there, we felt we had been at mamma's house for a visit.
My mother-in-law was there for almost a year and she loved it. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us. My husband and I were comforted to know that we chose Round Rock Assisted Living. Mum was so content there and passed away in such a loving and compassionate home. To Don and the staff there, THANK YOU for loving our mother. I know she loved you too.
God Bless,
