In-Home Respite Care:

• Temporary care of a dependent elderly, ill, or handicapped person, providing relief for their usual caregivers.

These services typically include:

• Assisting the family members to enable individuals to stay at home
• Providing appropriate care and supervision to protect that person’s safety in the absence of a family member or usual caregiver
• Relieving family members or usual caregivers from the constantly demanding responsibility of providing care
• Attending to self-help needs and other activities that would ordinarily be performed by other family members or usual caregivers
