Assisted Living:

Our Assisted Living is for those who want to celebrate their independence but may need help with activities of daily living.  Our residents don’t need to worry about cooking, cleaning or household maintenance and instead can spend their days filled with the many activities we offer. We recognize that every resident arrives needing a different level of care. Our highly-skilled staff provides the attentive care needed, whether it I help with odds and ends or the companionship and assistance of an experienced caregiver.  Whatever the level of care required, we tailor our services based on the choices, needs and interests of each individual resident.

Memory Care:

Our specialized Memory Care program, Illuminations, provides the highest quality care to our residents facing Alzheimer’s Disease or other related dementias. Our uniquely designed neighborhood promotes safety, security and well-being while offering life-enrichment programs to our residents on a daily basis.  Our activity staff develops and promotes programs to stimulate the senses and remind each resident that they’re part of a loving, engaging community. One of our most important goals is to establish a feeling of connection for our memory care residents.  Connection to their physical surroundings, connection to our welcoming community, connection with their families, and connection to the caregivers whom they trust to care for them each day.

Respite:

Our Respite Program offers you a short-term stay in one of our fully-furnished respite apartments, access to a full social calendar, three restaurant-style meals each day, transportation and use of all of our beautiful common areas and amenities.  You can experience the camaraderie, amenities and personalized services enjoyed by all of our residents, but without the long-term commitment. Our respite program is also a great resource for rest and recovery.  After a stay at a hospital or rehabilitation center, a helping hand may still be needed to get through the day.  We offer on-site physical therapy services to help you maintain your strength and endurance as well as evaluate your safety as you recover.  Our community offers all the privacy, care and services needed to help you get back on your feet.

The first few months where good for Mom at Desert Flower, but soon after new ownership brought in new upper and middle management things deteriorated very quickly. The details are too long, so I will just say that medication errors started happening, care plan was not followed resulting in putting my Mom in a potentially very dangerous situation, bad nursing assessments occurred twice resulting in undiagnosed serious bone fractures that where very apparent to me from the pain my mom expressed when I saw her and where confirmed by x-rays and CTs when I insisted they send her to the ER both times. The last undiagnosed fracture resulted in 1 week in the hospital followed by 3 weeks in a nursing home for rehab. My Mom was never quite the same after that. The above and other incidents occurred over a period of just a few months. After the last incident I finally decided to move her for her safety and well being to a facility that took good care of her. I only wish I would have made this decision sooner.
