The mission of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services of Memphis, Inc., (ADS) is to help persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders live their lives with dignity and respect while providing relief to their caregivers and support for their families. ADS directly impacts two populations, those who have the disease and those caring for them. Those living with dementia need quality therapeutic day services so they can live at home longer. Family members and those who love them, whom we refer collectively as caregivers, need relief from the emotional, physical and economic stress that comes from caring for a “Friend.”
ADS’ therapeutic day program is open Monday through Friday from 7am until 6pm at two centers in Memphis, Dorothy’s Place and Kennedy Park. ADS therapeutic activities include 20-25 activities throughout the day that exercise cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills, and provide socialization and communication opportunities.
Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Memphis, Inc. also engages with individuals, families and community organizations who have a need for dementia services through weekly support groups, dementia sensitivity training, and an annual caregiver conference.
